Of all the slanders against attorneys and terrible suggestions for improving the profession, the most pernicious is that lawyers are tree killers for all the paper we use. Wisconsin Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold advanced the names of four candidates to succeed federal appellate court judge Terence T. Evans.Last summer, Evans announced his intention to assume senior status this month after 30 years on the bench, including the last 15 in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Recently, Evans said he plans to continue to take cases full-time for at least another year.
