1. Be on time. If you cannot be on time, call and tell the Court why
there is a conflict or delay.
2. Be prepared to present your position and be prepared with the appropriate
paperwork or proposed orders.
3. Be sure to comply with the Standards of Courtesy and Decorum for the
Courts of Wisconsin as designated in SCR Chapter 62, including appropriate
dress and behavior while in Court. Be sure to advise your clients that
they are expected to behave and dress appropriately as well. Be civil
and respectful of other attorneys, court staff and other parties in the
courtroom.
4. No pagers, telephones or other electronic devices are allowed to ring
or go off in the courtroom. No food or drink.
5. Use the microphone and speak clearly so that the court reporter can
hear and understand what you are saying.
6. Address people appropriately while in the courtroom. Do not use first
names unless the witness is a child.
