Jewish Family Services Milwaukee presented the first-ever Chair’s Community Caring Award to Marquette University Law School for its outstanding commitment to helping the less fortunate in the community. Jewish Family Services Board Chair Nathan Fishbach and Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Rebecca Dallet presented the award to Marquette Law School Dean Joseph Kearney at its annual meeting Monday, Sept. 14. Kearney accepted the award on behalf of the school, professors and students.
The Chair’s Community Caring Award honors individuals and organizations in the community who embrace the JFS core value “to care for those among us in need, not as a burden, but as a mitzvah (obligation).” In presenting the award, JFS said Marquette Law School is a worthy recipient as it serves as an example to the community through the active implementation of programs that have the goal of “being the difference” in the lives of the less fortunate.

Price earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School, graduating cum laude. He is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in Wisconsin and Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling. Price has more than fifteen years of experience in employment law.
Carton received her J.D. from Marquette University Law School where she was vice-president of the Hispanic Law Student Association. Carton is fluent in Spanish. Her practice focuses on employment counseling and litigation.

Alfredo Cantoral, Milwaukee office, received his law degree from Marquette University. He is a former legislative advisor for the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and global sales manager for a nationwide wireless network.
Gretchen Cleveland, Madison office, received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin where she was active in the development of the UW Pro Bono Project, the Criminal Appeals Project, Editor in Chief at the Wisconsin Law Review, and Managing Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Journal of Law Gender & Society.
Rebecca Mitich, Milwaukee office, received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Marquette University. She also taught English in Poland for two years while earning her master’s degree in education.
The firm also announces it has hired Paul J. Eberle to become the Chief Executive of the law firm. Eberle has a long history of successful entrepreneurship and becomes one of the first non-lawyers to serve as Chief Executive of a major Milwaukee/Madison law firm.
Eberle, a Milwaukee native, comes to WHD as a founder and past president of a hardware, software, services and leasing firm, Capital Data, Inc. in Milwaukee.
Eberle will work through the end of October alongside Mark Miller, the firm’s current CEO, who announced his departure earlier this year after eight years of leading WHD. Eberle will begin his new position on November 1.
Arthur Gollwitzer III, a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group at Michael Best & Friedrich LLPin Chicago, is one of 40 committee members selected by Judge James F. Holderman, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, to review e-discovery practices and develop principles to make discovery of electronically stored information (“ESI”) more efficient and affordable. The committee included subcommittees focusing on evidence preservation, early case assessment, and attorney education. Gollwitzer serves on both the preservation and early case assessment subcommittees.

The induction took place at the annual meeting of the College in Portland, Maine.
The ACOEL is a professional association of distinguished private and public sector lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law.
McCauley has practiced environmental law for over 32 years. He served as chair of Quarles & Brady's National Environmental Law Group from 1985 to 2007. His practice focuses on Clean Air Act, Climate Change and Sustainability issues and other complex environmental compliance matters. McCauley is a graduate of the Iowa Law School.
