The IRS on Tax Exempt Organizations

The IRS has great resources on tax-exempt organizations.    Many researchers visit the site regularly for the searchable Publication 78, Cumulative List of Organizations.    Another feature worth noting is the “collection of links to State government web sites.”  From here, searchers can easily locate State specific information regulations and filings.    Copies of the EO Update (the periodic newsletter for organizations and practitioners) can also be found at the site.
