The Wisconsin Circuit Court Automation website, the Internet portal to the Consolidated Court Automation Program (CCAP), is now offering RSS feeds. Feeds are available at two levels: the query results level, identifying new matters that match basic case search criteria; and (2) the case level, providing updates when court record events are updated for a particular matter. We've used the feature in our office to get early notice of matters we believed to be imminent and to keep appraised of ongoing proceedings.

For those not familiar with the protocol, RSS feeds provide a means to track content published by a particular source. Rather than checking dozens of websites on a daily basis to find out what's new, users can aggregate their feeds using a single application and let the new information come to them. Feed reader functionality is now included in many email applications and web browsers. If you use multiple computers (or want to be able to track your feeds from your mobile device) you can set up an account with one of several online aggregator services.
